Senior Structural Engineer

  • Master's Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Licensed P.E. preferred
  • 5+ years of design and engineering experience.

  • Determination of suitable structural systems.
  • Direct the design team with suitable field's concepts, practices, and procedures to apply in design.
  • Review of engineering documents and specifications.
  • Review code compliance of design.
  • Project value engineering.
  • Determines cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations.
  • Provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure.
  • All of Junior Engineer's responsibilities.
  • Design of building systems such as, roof systems, floor systems, foundation systems, lateral load resisting, components (shear walls, shear wall foundations, lateral bracing, brace frames, frames, etc.).
  • Familiar with local construction practices and design codes like Florida Building Code, ASCE-7, ACI-318, ANSI/AISC 360, ACI 530, NDS for wood construction, PCI Handbook, etc.
  • Experience in design of Post-tensioned floor systems, concrete columns, concrete shear walls, concrete spread footings and pile foundations.
  • Experience in design of steel structures consisting of metal deck and composite deck floor systems, steel joists, steel beams, braced frames, steel columns.
  • Experience in design of multistory masonry structures.
  • Experience in design of wood framed structures consisting of wood trusses, truss tie downs, stud walls, wood beams and columns.
  • Finite Element modelling of building systems. Familiar with the following software is plus: Risa Floor, Risa 3D and Risa Foundations, Etabs and Adapt Builder.
  • Experience with Enercalc, Decon, Descon brace, SP software, S-Concrete is preferred.
  • Experience with post installed concrete anchors is preferred.
  • Generating Structural 3D models of building systems. Candidate shall be familiar with Revit Design Suite 2015 or newer.
  • Review Structural 3D models of building systems and coordinate models with other disciplines. Candidate shall be familiar with Revit Design Suite 2015 or newer.
  • Evaluating of building and structural system performances (vibrations, drifts, accelerations, deflections, and load carrying capacities)
  • Preparing construction documents and specifications.
  • Final shop drawings review.
  • Final RFI reviews
  • Performs site visits and inspections.
