Job Description:

The Director of Admissions plays a crucial role in the intake and admission process, ensuring that individuals seeking treatment receive the necessary support to begin their journey to recovery. This position requires a compassionate, organized, and detail-oriented individual who is dedicated to helping individuals overcome substance abuse challenges.

Responsibilities:

  1. Intake Coordination: Manage the intake process for potential clients, including conducting initial assessments, collecting relevant information, and determining eligibility for admission.

  2. Admissions Counseling: Provide guidance and support to individuals and their families throughout the admissions process, answering questions, addressing concerns, and offering information about treatment options.

  3. Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff, medical professionals, and administrative personnel to coordinate admissions and ensure a seamless transition for clients into treatment programs.

  4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all admissions activities, including intake assessments, consent forms, insurance information, and other relevant documentation.

  5. Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage and communicate with insurance providers to ensure proper billing and reimbursement for services rendered.

  6. Compliance: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to admissions and confidentiality, ensuring compliance with all applicable guidelines.

  7. Training and Supervision: Provide training and supervision to admissions staff, ensuring they are equipped to effectively handle inquiries, conduct assessments, and assist clients and their families.

  8. Community Outreach: Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote awareness of our treatment programs and services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Previous experience in admissions, intake coordination, or case management within a healthcare or substance abuse treatment setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathetically engage with individuals experiencing substance abuse challenges.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment modalities, assessment tools, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other software used for admissions and documentation.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in all interactions with clients and their families.
