Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHealthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Registered Behavior Technician to work in a school setting in Joliet, IL. A School Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a vital role in providing support and implementing behavior intervention plans in a school setting for students with behavioral challenges or developmental disorders. This position would be for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, secure your position for the next school year now

Job Duties
  • Work closely with the school's special education team to provide behavioral support to students.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to address targeted behaviors and promote skill development.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during designated intervention periods.
  • Collect and accurately record data on students' behavior and progress during intervention sessions.
  • Assist teachers and other school staff in the implementation of behavior management strategies within the classroom.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to ensure consistent application of behavior interventions and strategies across school environments.
  • Support students' social skills development, communication, and independent functioning.
  • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of students' progress and behavior, including conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) as needed.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, school staff, and other relevant stakeholders regarding students' progress and any concerns.
  • Attend team meetings and professional development sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require a bachelor's degree in a related field).
  • Successful completion of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification program.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques.
  • Experience working with children or students with behavioral challenges or developmental disorders is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to follow directions, maintain professionalism, and work as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to establish a positive rapport with students.
  • Organizational skills to manage and accurately record data on student behavior and progress.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, policies, and procedures may be required in some positions.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
