Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent service to all students, families, co-workers, and school administration.
- Meet the physical, emotional, and educational needs of the children in their care.
- Work in a team environment; build and maintain healthy, cooperative relationships.
- Communicate positively and effectively with the Site Director.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures both organizationally and departmentally to ensure the safety of children, parents, and staff.
- Model positive behavior and educate children in a manner which contributes to mature and responsible behavior.
- Complete all Discover After School and governmentally required training in the required time frame.
- Implement the curriculum and schedule provided on a daily basis and provide feedback to such on a weekly basis.
Qualifications:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma.
- Satisfactory Criminal Background Screening & Drug Screening.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (can be provided by Discover After School).
- Completion of 45 Hours of DCF Child Care Training.
Skills:
- Eagerness to learn.
- Strong verbal, listening, and written communication skills in English is required.
- Bilingual, with proficiency in both English and Spanish is a plus.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, patient, responsible, and dedicated to enhancing program performance and impact.
- Strong communication skills for interactions with children and administration.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities for daily challenges.
Expectations:

- Attend all meetings pertinent to this position.
- Oversee and participate in the cleaning and maintaining of facilities, equipment, and all areas used.
- Perform additional tasks as needed or requested.
- Wear appropriate staff uniform as assigned.
- Report to all scheduled shifts on time.
- Uphold safety procedures for children, parents, and staff.
- Follow scheduled activities.
- Familiarity with and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to perform additional tasks as required.
- Promptly communicate any concerns to the Site Director.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour

Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- Morning Care - 6:45AM - 9:00AM
- After Care - 2:00PM - 6:00PM
*All positions are part time with the possibility for full time hours*
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Experience with Children: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
Work Location: You'll primarily work at one specific site, but you have the option to choose from multiple locations
