Plans and prepares blending and production schedules for manufacture and packaging of juice products.

Responsibilites and Duties:

  • Designs master schedule for three shifts to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, equipment, and human resource requirements for maximum efficiency.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each machine center and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Plans sequence of manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.
  • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepares production reports.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance to ensure routine equipment preventative maintenance is performed.
  • Prepares inter-Company purchase orders to obtain materials.
  • Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions and exhibits sound and accurate judgment.
  • Makes timely decisions and communicates changes effectively.
  • Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and supports and explains reasoning for decisions.
  • Manages competing demands and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Planning Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
