POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vocational Trainer provides vocational training to adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in a sheltered workshop setting. He/she shares responsibilities with other vocational trainers for the daily supervision, care, and training of individuals attending the Vocational Training Center. No experience necessary, we will train you Shift is Monday- Friday 8a-430p



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


  • GED, High School Diploma, or ABLE Test (provided on-site) along with 3 letters of recommendation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Texas Drivers License.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must have the ability to lift, bend stoop, and remain on feet
  • Must have good driving record
  • Must have ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to complete all training

Primary Duties:

1. Ensure implementation of all SPO's

2. Train clients to complete job assignments

3. Maintain a daily documentation of:

a)Consumer Pay Records

b)Incident/Injury Reports

c)Behavior Therapy Programs

4. Monitor all clients to ensure health and safety, providing intervention as needed

5. Document work completion by clients with D.O.L standards

6. Treat all clients with dignity and respect

7. Serve all meals, snacks, and beverages for described diet in a normalized and sanitay manner, implenenting adaptive equipment and special procedures as needed.

8. Assist clients in performance of personal care needs i.e., toileting, grooming, lifting, etc. ensuring their privacy and dignity

2. Interacts with the consumers in an emotional, supportive and therapeutic manner.

3. Shall be responsible to maintaining confidentiality regarding all consumers' personal information

4. Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with individuals serve, supervisors, co-workers, and visitors.

5. Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional appearance at all times, especially when dealing with the public

6. Report to work in a timely fashion and maintain a good work attendance
