Job Title: Pricing Analyst

Reports To: Vice President – Corporate Sales and Marketing

Department: Sales, Exempt

Location: Riverview, FL

Summary of Primary Functions

Dobbs Equipment is seeking a Pricing Analyst who can support pricing initiatives by building strategic frameworks, identifying business trends and opportunities, and creating price strategies to deliver on financial targets. This position requires strong mix of analytic and communication skills, someone who can identify new ideas for the organization pricing processes, patterns in data and is comfortable leading projects from beginning to end, and is comfortable presenting to senior leadership to drive decisions. This role will collaborate across the organization to ensure the strategies developed meet the needs of each division.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Understand changes to the marketplace and industry and how that impacts Dobbs Equipment
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, such as sales quotations, competitive promotions and pricing, customer feedback, industry trends, and cost analysis
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to support strategic decision-making
  • Develop and maintain pricing models that can be easily used and strategies that align with the business objectives and customer value proposition
  • Conduct pricing experiments and tests to evaluate the impact of different pricing scenarios on the revenue, profit, and market share
  • Monitor and report on the performance and effectiveness of the pricing strategies and tactics for equipment, parts and service sales and the impact in market share (AEM and UCC) and profitability
  • Provide pricing recommendations and guidance to the management and sales teams and partner with marketing team to develop targeted pricing campaigns
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, product support, credit and finance, and operations, to ensure pricing alignment and consistency
  • Work cross-functionally with project teams serving as a subject matter expert on pricing strategy analysis and processes
  • Engage with leadership to define analytical requirements associated with new pricing and promotion strategies and propose new systems, tools or process required to implement short and long term pricing strategies
  • Lead multiple high-impact projects from concept to implementation, ensuring smooth handoffs to teams responsible for execution
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to assess pricing opportunities, evaluate financial performance, and measure the impact of strategic initiatives
  • Evaluate trade-offs between competing opportunities and producing compelling arguments for the best recommendation
  • Stay updated on the best practices and emerging trends in pricing analysis and optimization
  • Proven experience in pricing analysis, strategy, and optimization, preferably in a similar industry or market
  • Proficiency in using various tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, PowerBi, Tableau, or other data analysis and visualization platforms
  • Knowledge of the principles and methods of pricing, such as value-based pricing, cost-plus pricing, competitive pricing, and dynamic pricing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders at different levels
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to take complex business analyses and projects from concept to completion and make results accessible and relevant to business users at all levels
  • Demonstrates advanced interpersonal communication skills and levels of diplomacy and confidentiality


Qualification: The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pass Background/Drug screening
  • Sales experience
  • Management experience
  • Industry knowledge

Education: Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.

  • College degree required and at least 3-5 years of industry related experience
  • Heavy equipment sales experience desired
  • Organization and communication skills must be highly developed
  • Computer skills need to be broad based.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
