Position

InnovateEDU is seeking a full-time Junior Finance and Operations Associate to support the finance and operations functions within our mid-sized nonprofit organization. The Junior Finance and Operations Associate will work closely with the Senior Finance and Operations Associate to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and requirements set by funders, partners, and government agencies. This person will also work closely with the Executive Director to support administrative systems and routines of the organization with a particular focus on InnovateEDU’s financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Financial transactions: Support the day-to-day operation of InnovateEDU’s financial systems, including the integrity of financial accounting records and the timeliness and compliance of all grant-related reimbursements and expenses. Support daily financial and business activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and procurement processes under the supervision of the Senior Finance and Operations Associate to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and requirements set by funders and partners
  • Operation Support: Assist in the day-to-day operations of office management. This includes updating and maintaining our supply and inventory management, asset tracking systems, and other administrative functions associated with the office, as well as supporting the process of receiving and tracking inventory sent to the office and upholding policies related to the financial and operations manual.
  • Budgeting: Support the Senior Finance and Operations Associate by contributing to the annual budgeting process for the organization as a whole and support development of grant budgets as needed. 
  • Contract and Grant Reporting: Assist with grants management organization-wide by supporting in the maintenance of budget vs actuals reports, and assisting in quarterly and final grant reports under the supervision of the Senior Finance and Operations Associate

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a background in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Proficiency with bookkeeping and GAAP principles 
  • Skill at and comfort with managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and great organizational skills
  • Demonstrates ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency with using and  and reporting using Quickbooks Online (preferred)
  • One year of nonprofit finance and operations experience (preferred)


Compensation

All candidates are pay scaled by an independent third-party service or application which calculates the market rate for the applicant based on skills and qualifications, job duties, market conditions within the location of applicant, education, and experience. This position’s compensation range is $23-$26 hourly. InnovateEDU full-time employees receive paid vacation and sick leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, retirement, and other standard benefits.
