The Anesthesia Technician will:

  • Assist the anesthesia team prior to, during, and following patient procedures in various locations within Springfield Hospital.
  • Be proficient in the maintenance and resupplying of the most complex anesthesia supplies and equipment in the operating room and other anesthesia locations, and when available, respond to codes with anesthesia. T
  • Check and supply anesthesia carts and machines, check and replace anesthesia gas tanks, disassemble used anesthesia equipment, disinfect machines and supply carts, replace used products, and prepare transducers for invasive hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Have significant patient contact while assisting in transport and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Anesthesia, Nursing staff, and off-site resources.
  • Assist with the preparation of anesthesia supplies both preoperatively and post operatively by cleaning, maintaining, ordering, and inventorying of anesthesia supplies.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree as Anesthesia Technologist (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (preferred, required within six months of hire)
  • One (1) year of experience in a medical setting (preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer services skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and positive interactions.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changes.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Springfield Hospital organizational values.
  • Proficiency in the operation of decontamination equipment.
  • Demonstrates professional conduct and coping skills.
