Position Description: Financial Accountant

In this role, you will be responsible for managing key financial operations, including overseeing SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative) and COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) expenses, vendor approvals, inventory adjustments, and account reconciliations. This role also involves contributing to process improvement, managing fixed assets, and providing backup support for accounts payable and cash application. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive in process enhancement, and skilled in financial reporting and reconciliation. The ideal candidate should have good reconciliation skills, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication abilities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze SG&A and COGS expenses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and approve new vendor requests in accordance with company policies and financial guidelines.
  • Record and manage inventory adjustments.
  • Prepare and review assigned Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Maintain and track company's fixed assets, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation with financial records.
  • Oversee daily cash application and accounts payable activities.
  • Assist with the month end close, financial statements and account analysis.
  • Assist with obtaining external auditor requests.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures and systems and work with the team to implement changes for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies through the collection and analysis of account information.
  • Safeguard operations by maintaining the confidentiality of financial information.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related position with similar responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite preferred.
  • Experience working with Inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, including the preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
