North American Renewables, Inc., is seeking a Site Superintendent to join our growing Solar EPC team The Site Superintendent role is a site-based position that requires travel withing the state. This role is responsible for overseeing and effectively managing daily on-site activities. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design professionals, consultants and client while successfully directing the sub-contractors and other construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget. Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of the project schedule
  • Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction issues
  • Review and accept the general construction and labor budgets
  • Assemble the job site office and equipment requirements
  • Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with the design team/client as well as effectively lead the trades
  • Contact, schedule and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers and utilities
  • Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis
  • Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings
  • Inform the Project Manager of any errors, discrepancies or omissions contained within the design drawings
  • Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and NAR Safety policies are enforced
  • Maintain installation practices throughout the project in compliance with Client and NAR quality standards, policies, procedures and best practices
  • Coordinate and direct independent testing and inspections as required
  • Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control
  • Maintain control and responsibility for the security and operation of NAR's owned or rented equipment on the job site
  • Control and monitor labor, material and equipment expenses. Assist in the preparation of the monthly cost forecasting summaries
  • Ensure that "as-built" drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period
  • Coordinate all required municipal inspections
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists

The successful candidate will bring many of the following experiences, skills, and attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site Superintendent on Commercial Solar projects
  • High school graduate or equivalent; College or university degree in a construction related field preferred.
  • Technical working knowledge of the major trades: civil, electrical, structural & mechanical
  • OSHA 10
  • Ability to sequence project schedules and scopes
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, have strong attention to detail, and excellent time management skills to ensure all established project deadlines are achieved
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional with a friendly and positive attitude
  • Ability to identify needs, remove the barriers and critically problem solve
  • Proficient with computers
  • Experience with Procore is a plus
  • Excitement about growing along with a fast-paced, dynamic company; comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to build, experiment, and iterate when the path forward is undefined
