This opening is for a full-time Referral Clerk for our Trinity Family Medicine Department. The role is primarily responsible for processing eligibility and insurance verification, via web and telephone process. Manage referral requests for the department.

**Must be bilingual (Spanish) and have prior experience doing referrals**

**A minimum of 1 year experience required**

Strong customer service skills, time management: able to organize and manage multiple duties and priorities them. Basic computer skills, strong team player, experience in medical referrals and front office duties preferred

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Detail oriented with insurance authorization and referrals.
  • Prepare referrals and obtain authorizations.
  • Prepare charts prior to visit.
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Answer phones and assist callers
  • Maintain updated network information
  • Perform incidental duties as needed

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Occupational Exposure:

  • Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Previous experience in referrals required
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Able to meet deadlines and flexible.
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong team player
  • Experience with medical referrals/insurance/back ground in insurance verification and obtaining authorizations
  • Knowledge of Managed Care preferred
