Faith-based family health care center seeking Medical Assistant Behavioral Health to join our growing clinical team. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a definite plus

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • Minimum 3 years of outpatient clinical experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of phlebotomy and immunizations is required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients to see the Provider - assessing and recording all information per rooming protocol (vitals, chief complaint, PHQ-2, etc.).
  • Obtain lab specimens (urine, Phlebotomy, throat, etc.) and test appropriately.
  • Assist in the care of patients who are struggling with behavioral health problems
  • Carry out a variety of administrative tasks and assessments
  • Offer emotional support to patients
  • Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling and clinical questions, escalate up the clinical ladder to ensure prompt and appropriate resolution of patient needs where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to treat patients with respect, empathy, and dignity
  • Knowledge of the following required: Medical terminology, aseptic technique, taking and recording vital signs, screenings, injections, pharmacology, math, phlebotomy, EKGs, and lab tests.
  • Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities
  • Typing/computer, electronic medical record, flexibility, and medical assistant technical skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly; work independently and as a team member.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience.
