Job Summary: A Dispatch Supervisor oversees our team of delivery drivers and dispatchers in our aftermarket collision auto parts business. The Dispatch Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching daily delivery routes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customers, and managing the performance and productivity of the delivery drivers.

Overall, a Dispatch Supervisor overseeing delivery drivers and dispatchers at Empire Auto Parts should possess a combination of leadership, organizational, problem-solving, communication, attention to detail, customer service, and flexibility skills to effectively manage the delivery process and ensure customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Delivery Drivers, Shuttle Drivers and Dispatchers

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Schedule and dispatch delivery drivers for daily routes, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of products to customers.

· Monitor delivery driver performance and productivity, providing feedback and coaching as necessary.

· Responsible for all delivery and shuttle drivers at the local distribution center.

· Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

· Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver schedules, and vehicle maintenance.

· Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues or concerns.

· Resolve any issues or conflicts related to delivery schedules or driver performance.

· Manage the day-to-day activities of the dispatch office and ensure effectiveness.

· Collaborate with other departments, including sales and warehouse, to ensure efficient and effective delivery of products.

· Oversee the accurate and timely submission of payroll activities. Including and not limited to timekeeping, approvals of PTO, Sick, etc.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· 3+ years of experience in dispatching and supervising delivery drivers.

· Knowledge of aftermarket collision auto parts and the auto parts industry.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and dispatching software.

· Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Personal/Professional Attributes:

· Must possess strong leadership skills to manage and guide the team of delivery drivers effectively. They should have the ability to motivate, train and coach the team to achieve optimal performance.

· Highly organized with excellent planning and scheduling skills. They must be able to coordinate and manage multiple deliveries, routes and drivers simultaneously.

· Excellent problem-solving skills to address any issues or conflicts that arise during the delivery process. They must be able to think on their feet and make quick decisions to resolve problems and ensure customer satisfaction.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. They must be able to communicate effectively with customers, delivery drivers, and other departments within the company.

· Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate record-keeping, timely deliveries, and compliance with safety regulations.

· Strong customer service skills to ensure that customers receive their products on time and in excellent condition. They must be able to handle customer complaints and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

· Flexible and adaptable to changes in delivery schedules, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances that may affect the delivery process.

Physical Requirements:

· Able to move around the facility and warehouse to supervise delivery drivers, coordinate routes and oversee the delivery process. They may also be required to climb stairs, lift boxes or other items, and move equipment as needed.

· May spend a significant amount of time standing or sitting at a desk or workstation to coordinate deliveries, manage driver schedules, and communicate with customers and other departments.

· Must have good vision to read documents, emails, and messages on a computer screen or mobile device.

· Must have good hearing to communicate with delivery drivers and customers over the phone, in person, or via two-way radio.

· Manual Dexterity: The Dispatch Supervisor may need to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, or other communication device, as well as to handle paperwork, keys, and other small items.
