Assistant Home Director - Heber


Encircle is a non-profit organization with the mission to bring the family and community together to enable our LGBTQ+ youth to thrive. Our guiding philosophy of "No Sides, Only Love" is at the heart of all our programs, services, and activities.


The Assistant Home Director supports the services at the Encircle Heber House, ensuring that Programs, Friendship Circles, and Drop-In Hours are the best services they can be. Under the supervision of the Home Director, the Assistant Home Director ensures all staff who organize Programs and Friendship Circles receive ongoing training and support from Encircle. The Assistant Home Director supervises Drop-In Hours to make sure all community members coming to Encircle have a welcoming experience. 


Time Commitment: 25 hours a week (on average)


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Drop-In Hours M-F between the hours of 3pm and 8pm, occasional Saturdays.
  • Help manage interns and volunteers, to ensure programs run smoothly from week to week.
  • Coordinate monthly trainings with staff to coach on youth management.
  • Attend Programs and Friendship Circles on a regular basis to evaluate service excellence.
  • Hire Program Interns to assist with the previously mentioned responsibilities.
  • Mentor youth, enforce boundaries, and foster a nurturing environment for youth to thrive.
  • Utilize task management tool (Asana) to prioritize, plan, and manage all assigned tasks and projects on a daily basis.
  • Use communication platform (Podium) to communicate with guests about daily and upcoming programs and events happening at the home.
  • Help manage guest and volunteer sign in system (LobbyTrack) to maintain the safety of those in the home.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Home Team to collaborate with various projects, review goals, plan for future events, and align priorities.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports on home operations and evaluations.
  • Organize activities, encourage participation and help develop positive social interactions.
  • Organize and maintain supply inventory used for home programs and services.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Some college and/or professional experience in related field (psychology, social work, etc.) preferred.
  • General computer skills, M/S Office. Email, etc.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with youth and providing mentorship.
  • Experience facilitating group discussions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic, self-driven, friendly, and a great sense of humor.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
