As the newest member of the Bi-Mart family Cascade Farm and Outdoor is committed to quality and value throughout our stores. Our goal is to offer a helping hand to the hard working farmers, ranchers, and homeowners by providing a great selection of quality merchandise. We currently have two stores located in Walla Walla, WA and Coos Bay, OR. We are excited to be opening our third store in Keizer, OR summer 2019.

Position Overview

The department manager is responsible for merchandising, presentation, and cleanliness of a particular department, while training and managing the department sales clerks.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures each customer receives outstanding customer service by greeting and acknowledging every customer and maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service
  • Initiates, monitors, and maintains company standards for merchandising, housekeeping, in-stock positions, and customer service
  • Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales
  • Maintains an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions, and advertising.
  • Assists in monitoring department trends and makes recommendations for maximizing goals and objectives.
  • Assists in implementing floor moves, merchandising and display maintenance
  • Supervises the daily flow of work for all salesclerks in designated department
  • Assists in monitoring and ensuring all price controls and ad merchandise setup in designated department.
  • Obtain merchandise requested by customer
  • Answer customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise.
  • Ensures the processing and replenishing of merchandise on the selling floor by participating in receiving and monitoring merchandise flow in designated department
  • Assists in recruiting and developing sales clerk personnel in designated department
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by store management
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Ability to positively interact with others
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to read English and write it legibly
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Ability to analyze, reason, and make decisions
  • Ability to learn and retain new skills
  • Strong leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of retail experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of department brands and products
Required Education
  • High school diploma or GED
