WTG Mechanic/Technician

Position Summary:
Under minimum supervision, the WTG Mech/Tech carries out daily complex assembly, service, repair, and operations of infrastructure to wind turbine generators and related equipment and facilities.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform daily work requirements as directed by supervisor with minimum supervision, coordinating other crew members to assist with and perform tasks as required.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and/or retrofit of complex electrical, mechanical and or hydraulic components.
- Follow specific verbal and written instructions to perform WTG (and associated equipment) assembly, repair, and maintenance. Performs all duties and job requirements of a Technician.
- Complete and maintain required company documentation and records.
- Clean and organize tools equipment and work area, including sweeping, mopping, wiping oil, grease, solvent spills.
- Travel to various job sites for extended periods.
- Work must meet customer and company standards required of position and job.
- Comply with Corporate, OSHA, and GETSG policies and procedures at all times.
- Service Reporting, work order documents, and records will be written neatly, legibly, and completed correctly.
- Maintain required training certifications for position held. Responsible for assessing skills needed to perform specific tasks.
- Work is performed within project schedules.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
- Ability to work in a high volume, multi-priority environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Able to distinguish color. Has knowledge of various hand and power tools.
- Ability to write legibly and pass periodic exams to ensure knowledge is current with job requirements.
- Ability to work closely with others as a team. Communicate in a positive manner. Ability to work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
- Well groomed, present a positive company image. Treat others with courtesy and respect.
- Work cooperatively or independently and inspire a team effort with all.
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
- Required to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 300 feet.
- Requires 36 months’ wind turbine specific technical and mechanical experience.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle report that meets company standards.
- Required: Legal ability to work in the United States.
- 36 months’ mechanical and electrical experience
- Required: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain a drug-free status.
