Equestrian Feeder

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Equestrian Feeder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily feeding and nutritional management of approximately 70 horses. This role requires a strong understanding of equine nutrition, attention to detail, and a commitment to animal welfare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute feed according to individual dietary requirements and feeding schedules.
• Monitor the condition of feed and water sources to ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Observe horses during feeding times to identify any changes in appetite or behavior.
• Maintain accurate feeding records and report any concerns to the stable manager.
• Assist with the ordering and storage of feed supplies.
• Coordinate with the veterinary team to implement dietary changes as needed.
• Ensure that all feeding equipment is cleaned and maintained.
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss horse health and nutrition.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in equine care, specifically in feeding and nutrition.
• Knowledge of different types of feed and supplements suitable for various equine needs.
• Ability to lift heavy feed bags and operate feeding equipment.
• Strong observational skills to detect any health or welfare issues.
• Excellent time management and the ability to adhere to a strict feeding schedule.
• A team player with good communication skills.
