Job Title: Video Network Installation Technician
Location: 2540 Galvin Drive, Elgin, IL
Pay Rate: $25/hr. on W2
Install and configure video and network equipment, including cameras and video management servers vs candidates with repair audio-visual equipment such as projectors, sound systems, and display systems.
Job Summary
Video Network Installation Technician and play a critical role in supporting a large video and license plate reader deployment for mission-critical customers. This exciting position involves working with cutting-edge video technologies, fabricating equipment, programming/configuration, and managing inventory. Collaborate with multiple teams both within and outside of MSI to enhance situational awareness for first responders.
Job Specifications
Hybrid position: Could vary from 3 day to 5 days onsite as needed. (Travel required between both locations)
Primary Location: Elgin, IL - need to be local to the primary site but Travel required between both locations.
Secondary Location: Chicago, IL
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Travel: 25% (Driving within Chicagoland area)
Assignment Duration: 6 months to a year

Degree Requirement: Usually a 2-Year degree preferred

Environment: Elgin Staging Area, Onsite install work at customer site in Chicago

Department Function: Field Engineering for Fixed Video and Access Control
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the lead MSI engineer to understand and implement project requirements.
Fabricate video equipment pods for final installation.
Install equipment inside enclosures.
Build and install cabling for POD and cameras.
Configure Linux-based computers for use with Vigilant LPR cameras.
Configure LPR cameras with basic settings prior to deployment.
Manage, track, and consolidate project hardware inventory.
Test programmed equipment to ensure it meets quality standards.
Update and create documentation related to the project.
Provide onsite support as needed for installations (25% travel required).
Main Responsibilities
Stage, install, and test video sites in Chicago.
