Job Summary: 
Blavity Inc. is looking for a Graphic Designer with a strong focus on production to join our team. This role is ideal for an individual skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop who can excel in the production of high-quality visual content for the AFROTECH and Talent Infusion brands. While creativity and ideation are part of the role, the primary focus will be on the production of existing concepts and designs. 

This role will report directly to the Senior Art Director, AfroTech.

Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Production: Efficiently produce high-quality graphics and visual content using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with a focus on executing existing design concepts; Use tools such as Figma and Canva in the design process effectively and efficiently
  • Branded Presentation Development: Create compelling presentation decks that align with brand guidelines and narratives
  • Imagery Sourcing & Optimization: Source and optimize imagery for various design projects, demonstrating proficiency in image editing and manipulation
  • Collaboration & Execution: Work closely with the Creative Strategy team to understand and execute design requirements, maintaining high productivity and meeting project deadlines
  • Process Efficiency: Streamline production processes to enhance efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of design assets
  • Trend Awareness & Adaptation: Stay informed of graphic design trends, applying them as appropriate in production-focused tasks
  • Digital Tool Proficiency: Utilize tools such as Google Suite, Figma, Notion, and Canva in the design process effectively and efficiently

Qualifications: 

  • Education: N/A
  • Required Experience:
    • Demonstrable experience in graphic design, with a strong emphasis on design production
    • Strong understanding of typography and hierarchy in design
    • Experience in creating presentation decks and familiarity with digital design tools
    • Strong understanding of branding and design principles
    • A strong understanding of building large-scale graphics for print 
    • A portfolio showcasing production-focused design work
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 2+ yrs managing people/teams
    • Experience with motion and animation graphics
    • Previous experience working in consulting, finance, media, or a related high-growth start-up
  • Technologies: 
    • Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Figma, Notion, Canva, Asana and/or comparable project management suite
    • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Additional Qualifications:
    • Excellent time management and communication skills
    • Independent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility
    • Comfort with ambiguity and a proven love for transforming unorganized/complex data into rigorously structured, insight-oriented solutions
    • High-energy, company-first, positive attitude; must be motivated to work hard in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills; outgoing and sociable; willing to wear multiple hats 
    • Naturally detail-oriented, with an obsessive need to document and communicate findings
    • Passionate about diversity and inclusion
    • Interested in technology
    • A healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture

Details: 

  • This is a fully remote role, U.S.- based role.
  • Candidates must be available to work 100% in alignment with the Pacific Time Zone.
  • The annual salary range for this role is $40 - $50. Must be available up to 25 hours a week.
