First Merchants Bank is seeking a Compliance Analyst to join our team This position will provide file or account review analysis and data analysis support for the execution of the Compliance Management System, including the Fair Lending Program.

As part of this role you will:

  • Perform periodic fair lending analysis using loan data (including HMDA and Small Business data).
  • Perform periodic fair lending and UDAAP monitoring.
  • Assist with the preparation and communication of formalized fair lending and UDAAP analysis and monitoring reporting.
  • Assist with the annual Fair Lending and UDAAP Risk Assessment.
  • Provide support of regulatory examinations regarding fair lending and UDAAP.
  • Assist in compiling documents for the Consumer Compliance Department related exams, audits and reviews.
  • Projects and duties assigned to enhance the Fair Banking program as part of the Compliance Management System.
  • Assist the Compliance Manager(s) and Chief Compliance Officer in the vendor management and model risk management processes for the Compliance Department.

To be successful in this position, we require the following:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A minimum of four (4) years of banking experience including a working knowledge of bank products and services OR a minimum of two (2) years of banking experience working in compliance, audit or legal OR successful completion of the First Merchants Internship Program.

The following would be a plus:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of Fair Lending experience, including the use of Fair Lending analysis software and / or a familiarity with HMDA, ECOA, FHA, UDAAP and other regulations that are applicable to Fair Lending.
  • Familiarity with creating reports, testing and monitoring.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
