Brand Ambassador and Bartender

Runaway Train Brewery is a craft brewery located in Honesdale, PA. We are a growing brewery with a passion for creating high-quality craft beer and a fun and welcoming space for our customers. We have a restaurant and an event space onsite.

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and hard-working person to join our team as a Brand Ambassador and Bartender to help us drive awareness & trial of our brands at local events, train tours, festivals & at on-premises outlets within and beyond Settlers Hospitality. The ideal candidate has outstanding customer service skills and is knowledgeable about craft beer.

Additionally, there is setup work as part of activation so must be able to setup festival tent(s) and other point of sale materials.

Requirements

• Greet all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
• Pour beer & service customers efficiently
• Willingness to become an expert on Runaway Train beers
• Help set up & tear down beer pouring station (pop-up tent, table, signage etc.) for offsite events
• Perform bartending duties at Runaway Train Brewery restaurant and event spaces
• Pick up cups/trash & wipe down tables within the area as needed
• Check IDs to confirm all patrons are +21 years of age
• Required to lift up and change 55-lb kegs and required to move kegs 165 lbs
• Ensure proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis by requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce according to established policies
• Prepare and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practices prudent portion control
• Operates the complete POS system and other required software
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies

Qualifications:

• Knowledgeable and passionate about craft beer
• RAMP certified (can support to obtain certification)
• Service industry experience preferred
• Customer service experience preferred
• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma referred; some post high school education or training preferred
• One year of relevant experience
• Point-of-sale (Micros) and credit or debit card processing skills
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
