Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSenior Admin. & Clinical Support Specialist -Behavioral HealthJob Summary:Middleton Family Medicine is seeking a Senior Administrative and Clinical Support Specialist that will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the Behavioral Health Department. This position combines high-level administrative duties with clinical support tasks, ensuring that both the administrative and patient care aspects of the department run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in behavioral health, and possess a strong understanding of clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and patient care processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Manage and collaborate on the credentialing process and enrollment for Behavioral Health Providers.
- Assist in handling billing and insurance related matters for behavioral health services.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and state-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including patient files, administrative logs, and departmental reports.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory and accreditation documentation.
- Patient Coordination:
- Assist clinical staff in managing patient flow, scheduling, ensuring that patients are seen in a timely manner and that all necessary paperwork is completed.
- Coordinate communication between patients, families, and clinical staff, providing information and support as needed.
- Assist in the triage of patient calls and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate clinical team members.
- Clinical Documentation:
- Support clinicians in the accurate documentation of patient encounters, including the entry of data into electronic health records Athena (EMR) systems.
- Prepare and manage patient consent forms, treatment plans, and other clinical documents.
- Ensure that all patient interactions and clinical activities are documented in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and departmental efficiency.
- Assist in the collection and analysis of patient feedback and clinical outcomes data.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an administrative or clinical support role within a behavioral health setting.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior-level role is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of behavioral health practices and clinical workflows.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EMR) systems and other healthcare technology.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
- Credentialing experience preferred
