Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Mobile Mechanic is responsible for operating, installing, diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining all types of power generation and industrial engine/rental equipment.
Duties
  1. Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain diesel, natural gas and gas engines.
  2. Read schematics and diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical problems
  3. Conduct installation and commissioning of new units including generators.
  4. Coordinate with all systems being installed to ensure all related equipment work properly together
  5. Perform both minor and major repairs to the engine, generator or components
  6. Prepare all part requisitions and service reports for service and accounting needs in an accurate and timely manner
  7. Provide accurate and detailed information to create repair estimates as required
  8. Monitor expenses versus repair estimates and ensure awareness of any cost overruns prior to job completion
  9. Adhere to all applicable safety policies and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  10. Perform equipment check-in and check-out procedures
  11. Provide emergency dispatch/delivery of equipment to customers as needed
  12. Complete scheduled repairs and service safely in the time frame identified while providing superior quality to meet/exceed expectations
  13. Maintain all company vehicles, machines, equipment and tooling
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
  • 2-5 years’ experience as a diesel and equipment mechanic
  • 2 years generator experience and 2 years industrial mechanic experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Must meet DOT regulatory and CBE requirements for operating CBE or related vehicles
  • Proficient with engine troubleshooting tools including Engine Control Modules and gaseous fuel systems
  • Experience with diesel and/or gas engines, generators, and switchgears a plus
  • Knowledge of electricity and electronics including AC and DC circuits along with basic power generation systems
