CABINET MAKER JOB DESCRIPTION:


Do you have strong woodworking skills and an eye for detail? We are looking for the right candidate to join our team. Using the specs and drawings provided by our company, you will use your building and mathematical skills to create cabinets, running trim, walls, bars, and other products found in a commercial setting that meet very specific guidelines. You will work alongside the other members of our building team to create high end, custom products that are in high demand. This is a great way to put your woodworking and cabinet making skills to use in an environment where your experience and insight will be sincerely valued. Overall Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate variety of woodworking machines and use various hand tools to fabricate wooden cabinets, bars, and other high-end furniture, as well as wall and ceiling panels, running trim, and/or beams.
  • Study drawings of articles to be constructed and plan sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
  • Mark dimensions according to drawing specifications
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture. Arrange woods for grain uniformity.
  • Set up and operate woodworking machines.
  • Trim component parts of joints to ensure snug fit.
  • Bore holes for insertion of screws or dowels by hand or using boring machine.
  • Glue, fit, and clamp parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit, using clamps or clamping machine.
  • Drive fasteners into joints at designated places to reinforce joints.
  • Sand and scrape surfaces and joints of articles to prepare articles for finishing.
  • Install hardware, such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls.
  • Report to department supervisor, as well as bring any issues or questions to department supervisor's attention; including, but not limited to, safety violations, machine issues, backorders, drawing issues, etc.
  • Create checklists for items being shipped to jobsite within the scope of the work order and follow up on backordered items missing.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of cabinet making experience.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time on concrete surfaces.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, carry 25+ pounds.
  • Follow safety procedures.
  • Meet deadlines and hours as the work order dictates.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Two shifts available to choose from:
    • Day shift: 6:00am-2:30pm (Monday-Friday)
    • Night Shift: 2:00pm-12:30am (Monday-Thursday)
