Consultant would be to be in one of these industry verticals:

Hybrid role as might require some travel. Client is migrating from Dynamics AX to D365 cloud.  Manufacturing experience is a plus and preferred.   Position is remote with travel once a quarter to various lumber mill sites.   Resource can sit in EST but has been open to other time zones too on similar roles.  

Project Summary: Client is consolidating 3 ERP solutions (which are not AX), 4 CMMS solutions into D365 while also setting up a customer experience initiative which includes CRM, Marketing and E-Commerce.  They are making improvements from the customer engagement side on through delivery on the process side of manufacturing.  


Job Title: Microsoft D365 X++ Developer
Location: Remote (Some travel)
Job Type: Contract: (Minimum 6 months, with the possibility of permanent employment)

Introduction:

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated D365 X++ Developer to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. This role focuses on developing, finalizing, and enhancing applications within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform using X++ programming language. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in software development, with specific expertise in Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain Management (particularly transportation), and Customer Engagement/Customer Relationship Management (CE/CRM). A passion for creating efficient, scalable solutions that address complex business processes is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using X++ within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment, focusing on solutions for Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain (transportation logistics), and CE/CRM.

  • Finalize development projects by fixing bugs and streamlining the implementation process.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver high-quality functionality across diverse business areas.

  • Lead the testing phase to ensure applications meet complex multi-departmental needs.

  • Implement and manage updates, upgrades, and patches in a timely manner to minimize business disruption.

  • Ensure compliance with coding standards and technical design to enhance application performance.

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize product performance in Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and CE/CRM domains.

  • Document development processes, code changes, and other technical information as needed.

  • Provide support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders on best practices and technical issues related to specific business processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics 365.

  • Experience in upgrading from earlier versions of AX to Dynamics 365.

  • Knowledge of PowerApps, Microsoft Flow, and other Microsoft technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience as an X++ developer or in a similar role within Dynamics 365 environments.

  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, AX 2012, and associated technologies.

  • In-depth knowledge of and experience in Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain (including transportation logistics), and CE/CRM.

  • Familiarity with Lifecycle Services (LCS), Azure DevOps, and other automation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
