Do you have a passion for welding? We’re hiring an experienced Welder at our premier manufacturing operation in Raymond, MS. This role is for 1st shift (6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.) If you possess:

  • Experience in welding metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order.
  • The ability to manually sets tools and punches as specified by setup sheets.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Hunter offers $23.70 as the starting rate with opportunities for advancement in level and pay. This position is for our 1st shift (6:00am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday).

As a Welder:

What you will do:

  • Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
  • Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal.
  • Connects regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and welding torch.
  • Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure, to obtain desired flame.
  • Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
  • Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of metal.
  • Connects regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and welding torch.
  • Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure, to obtain desired flame.
  • Holds torch at proper angle to metal and guides along weld joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts.
  • Lays out, positions, and tack welds workpieces.
  • Welds along vertical or overhead weld lines.
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
  • Cleans or degreases parts.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Additional Qualifications Include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Welding certificate preferred.
  • Must score Silver or higher on NCRC/Work Keys exam.
  • Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to read blueprint and read measuring equipment.
