Summary

We are seeking a reliable and caring individual to serve as a Nursery Attendant at First Congregational Church of Southington. The Nursery Attendant will provide safe and nurturing care for infants and toddlers during designated church services and special events. This role plays a crucial part in creating a welcoming environment for families with young children, ensuring their comfort and peace of mind while they participate in church activities.

Duties

*Child Care: Supervise and care for infants and toddlers (typically ages 0-3) in the church nursery during scheduled services and events.
*Safety and Security: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized nursery environment. Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of children at all times.
*Communication: Interact professionally and warmly with parents and guardians, providing updates on their child’s well-being as needed.
*Activities: Engage children in age-appropriate play, stories, and simple crafts that align with our church values and beliefs.
*Teamwork: Collaborate with nursery volunteers and church staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for families.
*Flexibility: Be willing to adapt to the needs of the nursery and provide support during special church events or services as required.

Requirements

*Candidates must be willing to work in a church setting and support the efforts of FCC Southington.
*Have experience working with children of varying ages. An early childhood education or education degree or child development courses preferred but not required.
*Candidates must be eighteen years of age or older, be willing to submit to a background check and comply with Safe Conduct policies and requirements.
*CPR and first aid training is preferred but not required.
*Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry infants and toddlers, and to move quickly and react appropriately in case of emergencies.

Benefits

Hours: Part-time. Sundays 9:45 am to 11:45 am (year-round)
Compensation: $18-20 per hour
