We are seeking a Sr. Statistical Programmer to support our Surveys projects. Position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee data collection activities for annual survey data collection activities
  • Oversee the production of data tables and reports
  • Ensure quality assurance through planning and quality control testing of the data collection website, survey applications and the accuracy of data tables.
  • Ensure the implementation of approved data collection methods and processes and quality assurance/quality controls policies and procedures, and that they are effectively documented and maintained.
  • Contribute to the production of web-based data sets and database systems that include data from surveys and other data sources.
  • Support the production of Annual Survey Methodology Reports.
  • Ensure coordination with the customer for the timely exchange of data files for review and correction/update.

Duties:

  • Perform data collection, data analysis, data verification and conversion of data sets from large data sources into a standardized format to enable the publication of science and engineering state profiles of funds.
  • Respond to queries for customers seeking assistance during data collection.
  • Conducts modeling and prototyping ad utilizes statistical theory in the selection, collection, classification, adjustment, analysis and interpretation of alternatives and solutions.
  • Prepares data repository files and datasets for upload to host database systems.
  • Processes and loads survey data from survey respondents who submit their data using manually submission processes (outside of the Web-based data collection system).
  • Compiles data for processing by organizing information, checking inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighing the raw data.
  • Provide support to the production of the data files and documentation for the data repository and E-tables.
  • Develop new data analysis tools.
  • Develops programs for dataset integration, prepare resource plans, and assist with quality control of datasets.
  • Use statistical software; plan and evaluate use of technology, including database systems.
  • Review SAS programs and perform QA to ensure that the content in the detailed statistical tables (DSTs) and the historical and references tables are accurate and display properly.
  • Create and validate SAS datasets to map data exported from database according to specifications.
  • Conduct and document quality assurance procedures on software applications, and SAS programming processes.
  • Apply redundant output generation comparison where applicable, compare output to previous output for suspected sharp deviations, and perform other QA techniques as available/applicable for other data sources.
  • Conducts manual and automated testing and preparation of databases and datasets to be included in the Survey Methodology Reports.
  • Assist to the review and updating of the Federal Support Survey Codebook.
  • Analyzes statistical data, interprets results, draws conclusions, and prepares reports for the customer decision-making process.
  • Write, edit, review and prepare technical documentation and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in variety of statistical analyses and techniques.
  • Demonstrated advanced experience with statistical software.
  • Demonstrated experience using helpdesk/ticket systems/software (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.).
  • Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement.
