KLKN-TV is looking for a Sports Director to lead our sports department. Lincoln is home to the Huskers and is one of the best sports markets in the country This position requires a great on-air personality with strong reporting, editorial, and social media skills. A drive and passion for sports is essential, along with the ability to generate strong local sports stories without relying on national feeds. The ideal candidate knows the pulse of Husker Athletics and will pitch opportunities for special coverage.

You will…

  • Shoot, write and edit sports stories for broadcast and web
  • Produce sports block for 6 & 10 PM shows
  • Coordinate coverage for sports department
  • Update social media/web platforms throughout the day
  • Develop relationships with sources to help break us sports stories

You have…

  • Two-years on-air experience
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere
  • Knowledge of JVC cameras
  • Thrive under pressure and deadlines
  • Willing to work various shifts
