Centennial is in search of a Business Operations Director for a nonprofit agency committed to assisting children who are in the child protection system.


This organization has been an advocate for children in the Cincinnati region for 43 years and they are seeking an organized and passionate individual to join their team.In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial, human resource, evaluation, and support functions.


Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing fiscal strategies to optimize the utilization of agency funds, guiding goal-setting processes, and ensuring alignment with standards and objectives. Additionally, you will provide support in Human Resources, office management, technical matters, and maintenance tasks to ensure smooth agency operations. Your skills will play a vital role in maximizing positive outcomes for the children served by this organization.


The Business Operations Director will work in Cincinnati and report to the Executive Director.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees, and staff to develop and manage agency and program budgets, ensuring alignment with objectives for effective financial management.
  • Conduct financial analysis across all agency functions.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports for Executive Committee and Board of Trustees meetings, encompassing income statements, balance sheets, year-to-date budgets, and projected actuals.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports required by agency and funding sources to meet funding requirements and satisfy entities such as the National CASA Association, Ohio Attorney Generals Office, and foundations.
  • Performs bank reconciliation and money transfers and supervise data entry and payroll processes to ensure accurate recording and execution of monetary transactions.
  • Manage the agencys contractual commitments and agreements.
  • Facilitate communication with agency accountants, coordinating audit schedules, preparing audit records, and consulting with accountants as necessary throughout the year. Present audit reports to the Executive Director and Treasurer.
  • Act as a liaison with banks and investment managers concerning agency funds. Oversee agency investments, in consultation with the Executive Director and Treasurer, and ensure bi-annual meetings with investment advisors.
  • Disseminate funding requirements and budget information to various departments within the agency.
  • Facilitate goal setting in accordance with the agency objectives and relevant standards.
  • Evaluate and communicate child and volunteer demographic information and caseload data.
  • Analyze data and report agency Outcome Measures to staff, volunteers, and the Board of Trustees.
  • Prepare financials for applications and reports to funders and certifying organizations.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of the building and technology.
  • Manage case database.
  • Administer payroll, employee vacation and sick accruals and workers compensation.
  • Assist with setting and evaluating agency goals, focusing on Operational Team impact.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of other teams programs for improved communication and collaboration.
  • Benchmark with other CASA programs for best practices.
  • Represent the organization effectively to external organizations.
  • Communicate volunteer needs and provide assistance in designing and implementing volunteer training.
  • Supervise, manage, support, evaluate, and communicate volunteer status.
  • Perform duties in alignment with the organizations objectives, values, and standards.
  • Attend all staff meetings and foster teamwork.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 office software and accounting software
  • Attention to detail, organized, efficient and able to multi-task
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Familiarity with child and family welfare issues and non-profits is preferred but not required
