Position Title: Lead Medical Assistant

Job Overview:

As the Lead Medical Assistant at our primary care practice, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of our medical team. Your responsibilities will include leading and coordinating the medical assistant team, assisting providers, and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the medical assistant team.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure proper coverage and workflow.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.
  1. Clinical Support:
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Ensure all patient records are accurately documented in our electronic health record system (e.g., Athena Health).
  • Maintain and organize medical equipment and supplies.
  1. Training and Onboarding:
  • Oversee the onboarding and training of new medical assistants.
  • Develop and update training materials and protocols.
  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of care provided by the medical assistant team.
  • Implement and adhere to best practices and safety protocols.
  1. Patient Interaction:
  • Interact with patients in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns, providing excellent customer service.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  • Assist in the coordination of patient scheduling and appointment reminders.
  • Manage inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Handle administrative duties as needed, including billing and insurance processing.
  1. Compliance and Regulations:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations and implement necessary changes.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary care or similar healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, experience with Athena Health is a plus.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care best practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $21.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 40 per week
