We are looking for someone who is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment across the RV & Marine dealership. This role involves routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all areas, including showrooms, service areas, customer waiting areas, and restrooms, are kept in pristine condition. The Custodian also supports the dealership's overall operations by assisting with minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday through Saturday
Compensation: $16 - $18 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance:

    • Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in all dealership areas, including showrooms, service bays, offices, restrooms, and customer areas.
    • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in designated areas.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure facilities are well-stocked and in working order.
    • Clean windows, glass doors, and display areas to ensure a professional appearance.

  • Facility Upkeep:

    • Conduct minor maintenance and repair tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and addressing small repairs.
    • Report any major maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Manager.
    • Ensure all dealership areas are free from hazards, and promptly address any safety concerns.

  • Support Services:

    • Assist with setting up and breaking down for dealership events, meetings, and special functions.
    • Help with moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
    • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocking as necessary.

  • Exterior Maintenance:

    • Maintain the cleanliness of the exterior dealership grounds, including parking lots, entryways, and surrounding areas.
    • Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, de-icing, and leaf raking.

  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Follow all dealership and safety policies and procedures.
    • Use cleaning and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience: Previous custodial, janitorial, or maintenance experience is preferred, especially in a dealership or commercial setting.

  • Skills:

    • Basic knowledge of cleaning and maintenance techniques.
    • Ability to operate custodial equipment such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning chemicals safely.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
    • Valid driver's license.

  • The Custodian works both indoors and outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions.
  • The role requires physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting heavy objects.

About Our Dealership:

Bretz RV & Marine opened for business in Missoula, Montana, in 1967. Until then, Frank and Vi Bretz had been operating a service station and renting U-Hauls in central Missoula. Searching for a new camping trailer turned into a new business opportunity. Not only did the Bretz family get a new camper, they decided to get into the business of selling and renting small travel trailers.

Today, Bretz RV & Marine is still a family-owned and operated business with five dealerships across Montana and Idaho. We are fortunate to have grown from just over 100 employees to nearly 400 employees in the last five years. We do all we can to offer our teams an excellent place to work and advance in our company.
