Position Summary

The maintenance superintendent is a critical role for the organization and specifically the Pueblo plant. Pozzolan products are a relatively new vertical for the company and we are growing our business with a focus on these materials. We have recently completed a significant plant expansion and are looking for an individual that can provide the necessary mechanical skills and leadership to help drive the success of the facility. The successful candidate for this role will provide technical expertise and lead the maintenance group in a proactive manner that maintains the facility at our targeted availability rates and minimizes unexpected outages.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

· Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies as well as instilling a safety culture in the workforce. Ensure housekeeping is a daily priority of the employees.

· Participate as an integral member of the plant operations team to create a high-performance environment.

· Develop and/or implement the overall maintenance system and strategy to assure plant reliability to meet customer needs.

· Provide oversight and technical expertise on maintenance related matters.

· Lead a reliability-based maintenance program that focuses on a high level of mill availability in order to assure customer supply requirements are maintained.

· Assist plant manager in determining the need for capital investment recommendations for the plant.

· Provide management, coaching, training, and development to all direct reports

· Work with plant manager to analyze overall performance of the operation and communicate results with appropriate team members to drive continuous improvement.

· Ensure optimization and execution of all maintenance plans while simultaneously optimizing overall equipment effectiveness at the lowest sustainable cost of maintenance.

· Implement PMR’s and Critical Spare parts strategy to optimize operations and cost.

· Develop a detailed budget and manage maintenance department to achieve plant cost targets.

· Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

· This position will require an individual that has demonstrated experience in a plant setting and must have 5-10 years of experience in a heavy industrial Industry.

· Undergraduate degree in engineering, science or other discipline that may be related to the specifics of the job opportunity. Candidates with extensive experience but not holding a degree will also be considered.

· Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as Outlook. Prior CMMS experience is strongly desired.

· Ability to communicate clearly and accurately with all employees including direct reports and management.

· Ability to work independently as well as in a team with the rest of the organization and be able to adapt to company needs on an ongoing basis.

· Solid planning, organizational and project management skills with the ability to multi-task and assimilate new information quickly.
