GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Front Desk Receptionist/Check-In Associate has responsibility for the functions of receiving and directing patients/visitors to appropriate locations, scheduling visits, recording insurance, demographic and consent into the Epic system, while exhibiting a friendly and helpful affect towards parties within and outside the corporation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Patient Reception
    • Patient Registration
    • Chart Preparation
    • Answering incoming phone calls
    • Greet and direct patients while serving in a general capacity of “information assistance”
    • Schedule appointments using protocol established within the department
    • Telephone Encounters – Information collected and routed to appropriate receiver
    • Collection of co-pays, prior balances and posting of such collections
  • Information Gathering: Ensure accurate charting of demographics, insurance coverage, consents and additional data as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Minimum of high school degree
  • Proficient in the use of computers, word-processing and scheduling software or ability to learn applicable software.
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service role.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills with multicultural sensitivity.
  • Medical background preferred
