INTRODUCTION TO ROLE


As a sales representative for Chincoteague.com, you will sell product or service placements on the website to increase awareness of and travel to Chincoteague and the applicable surrounding area and its businesses that would benefit a traveler.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Your duties include finding leads and conducting the necessary follow-up to meet sales quotas. You also represent the website at applicable travel industry consumer shows throughout key domestic market areas, provide support to accounts, process sales forms, and invoices, assist with developing ideas that will improve the website and offerings, create budgets, and report on actual and forecasted sales and website analytics for clients and ownership.

  • Identify businesses that are a good fit for Chincoteatue.com;
  • Conducts sales calls in and around Chincoteague Island, where businesses are active
  • Identifies and attends travel or consumer trade shows and follows up where necessary;
  • Works with the local tourism industry on sales missions;
  • Develops and maintains a database of leads resulting from sales missions; communicates as needed;
  • Provides quarterly sales and analytics reports to clients;
  • Provides monthly sales and analytics reports to the ownership group;
  • Represents the .com when appropriate on industry committees, CVB board, and others;
  • Conducts telephone sales with prospect and client lists;
  • Conducts follow-up with prospects and business representatives;
  • Identifies best solutions for the local business to be represented on the .com
  • Develops and manages customer database;
  • Assists with the development of sales packages and any collateral;
  • Actively assists in local content creation and videos to be used on social media and the website;
  • Assists in website content, activity calendar content, etc. to ensure content is fresh and up to date;
  • Prepares and submits commitment invoices to accounting;
  • Some travel may be required.

  • Coordination and conflict resolution work
  • Works well in a team environment and can adjust actions in relation to others' actions.
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of major social platforms, including LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc. as part of integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Video and photography skills a plus
  • Basic coding knowledge (HTML, JavaScript, etc.) and previous experience editing and maintaining websites are a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint), Box, Dropbox, and Google Drive.
  • Prepares and submits commitment invoices to accounting;
  • Experience with Pipedrive or Customer Relationship Management software a plus
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Integrative Marketing experience; Digital Marketing Specialist background
  • 3-5 years of experience with HubSpot, Marketo, or Salesforce marketing tools


This is a sedentary role; however, frequent sitting or standing is required. The ability to read and interpret writing in color is required. Dexterity is required to operate computers and related tools.
