Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummary
HR Generalist is responsible for providing training, employee relations, and recordkeeping duties in order to ensure compliance with FCCC policies and procedures, any applicable laws, and a positive employee experience. The HR Generalist must comply with established policies and procedures as well as any and all applicable laws.
Duties
Training
·Keep track of training and ensure required training is completed within scheduled timelines.
·Schedule ongoing trainings pertaining to benefits, policy, safety, as well as trainings related to VDOE compliance and ensure trainings are completed within required timelines.
Employee Relations
·Assist with, and ensure that, management are conducting timely and effective 30-60-90 and annual reviews.
·Work with management regarding disciplinary action and the creation of effective action plans.
·Field employee concerns.
·Develop consistent procedures in accordance with the personnel manual.
·Lead and conduct investigations
·Responsible for conducting exit interviews
Recordkeeping/Compliance
·Ensure the confidentiality and security of all employee files.
·Maintain up to date records of employee contact information.
·Maintain accurate records for outside audits to include OSHA, Department of Labor, workers compensation and the annual audit of financial standing.
·File necessary compliance documentation with regulatory and oversight agencies.
·Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and VDOE Licensing compliant personnel folders and personnel records.
·Ensure job descriptions are regularly reviewed and updated.
·Responsible for filing accurate and timely worker’s compensation claims.
·Ensure that the organization is legally compliant regarding all aspects of employment and benefits.
·Ensure that employee manuals are effective, up-to-date, and reflect best practices.
Recruitment
·Develop an effective recruitment strategy
·Develop and maintain an effective staff development pipeline
·Maintain effective and accurate recruitment postings
·Attend recruitment fairs on behalf of the organization as required.
·Responsible for onboarding new employees
Requirements
Education
•Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field
Qualifications:
•Technology experience/knowledge
•Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
•Ability to successfully pass a background screening
•2 years of experience minimum
Knowledge, Skills Abilities
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Superior attention to detail
•Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
•Upholds confidentiality and trustworthiness in safeguarding sensitive data
•Ability to multi-task, solve problems, and prioritize without compromising details or accuracy of work
•Energetic and strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
•Ability to effectively partner with peers, volunteers, Executive Director, Board of Directors
•Exceptional data entry skills, high familiarity with database and data entry systems
•Accountable, reliable, and maintains a positive attitude
•Knowledgeable in HR best practices and employment law
Physical Requirements
•Able to lift carry items up to 25 lbs.
•Able to sit at a desk comfortably while working on a computer, for extended periods of time.
•Able to stand, kneel, bend at knees, squat throughout the day.
•Able to talk and hear, both in person and by phone.
•Able to use hands and fingers to operate equipment such as a computer, tablet or smart phone, must be able to key in payments using electronic devices.
•Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Nice To Haves
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
·PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
·SHRM CP/SCP certification preferred.
·3-5 years of experience preferred
