This job combines two critical functions necessary for the growth and legal stability of InterAct Ministries. The Human Resources function includes oversight of application processing and initial onboarding of new staff. The Mobilization role gives oversight to the finding and fielding of new staff.

Supervisory/Leadership Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the executive director
  • Member of the Organizational Leadership Team (OLT)
  • Works with field staff as required
  • Serves on the U.S. office team
Responsibilities

The Human Resources Director is responsible to…

  1. Process all membership and employment applications of individuals applying to serve with InterAct
  2. Manage and oversee the applicant interview process to ensure applicant readiness for ministry and adherence to InterAct’s statement of faith.
  3. Direct the Vision and Equipping Workshops (ViEW) for new staff.
  4. Remain current and provide advice to InterAct on applicable employment law, policies and practices, ensuring that they are being followed.
  5. Maintain member and employee records, handbooks and policy manuals

The Mobilization Director is responsible to…

  1. Direct the process of identifying and recruiting the next generation of cross-cultural disciple makers
  2. Stay abreast and knowledgeable of current missiological trends
  3. Lead the evaluation, continuous improvement and implementation of InterAct’s mobilization strategies and tactics, including representation at Christian colleges, seminaries, churches and other mobilization/recruiting events, as well as print and social media promotion.
  4. Sync applicant/inquirer interest with field needs, staying abreast and knowledgeable of the needs of all three fields.
  5. Mobilize, pray with, encourage and coach inquirers/applicants/appointees
  6. Track and monitor the mobilization process with each inquirer/applicant, which concludes with the appointee being fielded
  7. Maintain a secure online data base of contact information

Responsibilities of all InterAct members/employees funded through deputized fundraising:

  1. Dedicate time for personal spiritual development ( e.g., reading, prayer, Bible study, approved courses)
  2. Maintain frequent communication with personal financial and prayer team members to share reports of what God is doing as well as to challenge toward spiritual maturity
  3. Raise the funds required to meet 100% of personal support needs, used to cover living and ministry expenses as well as general organizational needs
Spiritual Qualifications
  • Give evidence of having a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Agreement with InterAct’s doctrinal statement
  • Agreement to abide by the Standards of Christian Life & Ministry
  • Able to lead others to Christ and disciple them
  • Regularly practicing the personal disciplines of prayer and Bible reading/study
  • Have a sound understanding of the Bible and its basic doctrines and be able to clearly relate them to others
Required Education, Experience, Skills and/or Competencies
  • Experience in local church ministry
  • Bible college/seminary training
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Possess good spelling, grammar and writing skills
  • Have good organizational skills
  • Able to work well with others and contribute ideas
Preferred Education, Experience, Skills and/or Competencies
  • Experience in general human resources functions
  • Experience with Pipefy workflow software
Work Environment

Most of the time, this position requires working at a desk using a computer, viewing a monitor. Conversing on the phone, while not consuming a significant amount of time, is nevertheless a significant aspect of the position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Some overnight travel is expected.
