Position Overview:

Writes, edits, reviews & organizes all IT technical written materials including organization of key sections, tables, exhibits, and attachments, providing graphic/layout assistance to help ensure quality instructions. They must observe production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail. Proof, standardize, and edit instructions written by peers and other team members.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for taking complex, technical information and translating it into an easily understandable format, per customer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts in the research, development, and preparation of audience-appropriate, clear, concise, and engaging course content.
  • Conduct research and ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
  • Translate technical information to clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organizational standards and allow for easy data migration.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
  • Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.
  • Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and nontechnical users.

Job Requirements:

Educational requirements include a AS/AA Degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or related field from an accredited college or university or 2 years experience in IT Technical writing

3+ years of Exceptional proficiency in IT writing and editing skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Wiki, GitLab Technical Writing, and UI text., Visual Studio and Vizio.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize staff requests, and set expectations.

Meticulous attention to detail and effective professional correspondence.

Self-sufficient and resourceful, and able to work independently and take ownership of the project.

Ability to work under tight deadlines.

Solid understanding of IT concepts, ability to translate into technical software documentation

Required Qualifications:

A+ CE certification (can be completed within 6 months of start date)
