Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe're seeking a Distribution Engineer based in Minnesota to join our client's REMOTE WORK team.Ideal candidates will be located in the greater Minneapolis to northern Minnesota area.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Craft distribution voltage construction packages for overhead and underground projects, driving infrastructure evolution.
  • Assist in distribution line design spanning 2.4kV to 34kV, ushering in the future of utility networks.
  • Collaborate with Designers and Engineers to craft and refine drawings, ensuring precision in every detail.
  • Contribute to proposal preparation, engineering/project cost estimates, and execution schedules.
  • Provide technical expertise to customers and spearhead regional business development initiatives.
  • Conduct rigorous quality reviews and uphold the highest standards in QA/QC processes.
  • Engage in calculations and equipment specifications, optimizing performance and efficiency.
  • Evaluate the loading dynamics of equipment components, guaranteeing safety and cost-effectiveness.
  • Navigate the intricacies of regulatory standards and guidelines, ensuring compliance and excellence.
  • Harness field data and imagery to drive design implementations with precision and efficacy.
  • Harness proprietary software and tools to streamline engineering workflows, facilitating seamless project execution.
  • Own your assignments, delivering on project schedules and budgets while keeping the management team informed.
  • Foster effective communication with clients, tailoring solutions to meet their unique needs.
  • Provide meticulous documentation and support for accounting functions, ensuring fiscal integrity.
  • Embrace the elements and diverse environments, adapting to all weather conditions and locales.
  • Be prepared to travel overnight or for extended durations as project demands dictate.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders, navigating diverse landscapes with professionalism and finesse.

Basic qualifications:

  • Residency in Minnesota, preferably in the greater Minneapolis to northern Minnesota area.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, ideally in Electrical Engineering.
  • Fundamental understanding of electric utility concepts and standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational prowess.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, GIS, and business enterprise software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and willingness to undergo fit-for-duty testing.

Preferred qualifications:

  • EIT or FE certification.
  • PE license (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution assets and construction practices.
  • Experience with pole loading or construction modeling software.
  • Proficiency in industry utility or joint-use software.
  • Familiarity with design and checking practices and safe work protocols.
