Political Sales Strategist

Present & Sell Majority Strategies' Product & Services
This position will be responsible for selling the full range of MS products and services to Political, Advocacy and Brand prospects and clients throughout their assigned region and nationally. Political clients will generally peak every other year and require a careful and considered sales development plan to coincide with maximizing returns in that cycle. Advocacy and Brand opportunities are more consistently available. A concerted sales development plan to maximize those opportunities will also be required.
Managing to a Target
In the political segment of a strategist's book of business, the primary focus will be on races that are gubernatorial, state legislature and county-wide races. Races throughout the USA are also available to pursue using the CRM system to avoid conflicts with other National and State Team strategists already pursuing these races.
MS will provide comprehensive ongoing training, fulfillment support, marketing materials and additional resources to help ensure your success. Success requires a robust pipeline at all times to ensure these goals are met.
Building A Robust Network of Political, Policy & Marketing Decision Makers
The Political Sales Strategist will regularly work to expand his/her network of political, advocacy and brand decision makers who can be helpful in generating revenue opportunities. It is expected the Political Sales Strategist will bring a network or relationships at the time of joining MS, but an overt, robust and ongoing effort to continue to build that network is expected.
Collaborate With Internal Teams
The Political Sales Strategist will be expected to work closely with all internal teams to ensure the highest quality product and experience for associated clients. An especially close collaboration with the Director of Sales Operations along with the assigned Project Manager is expected to communicate prospecting and client's needs through our CRM system.
Utilize Internal Tools To Communicate Activity & Revenue Outlook
Majority Strategies has invested heavily in Customer Relationship Management (CRM), client plan and audience building software. The Political Sales Strategist is expected to spend some part of each workday keeping client and activity information current and accurate and is expected to become proficient in utilizing the audience building and plan tools to autonomously get accurate counts and develop comprehensive plans for internal and external use. This information is used to anticipate workflows and ensure resources are available to meet the commitments made to clients.
Work With Finance Team
The Political Sales Strategist will work with the finance team to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely information related to expenses, pricing, collections, etc.
Professional Background
- Strong political experience, connections and reputation in the Political and /or Advocacy ecosystems.
- Solid and deliberate networker who consistently expands his/her contact list every day.
- Understanding of the strategic application of digital and print advertising in the Political and /or Advocacy landscape.
- Proven track record in selling marketing products and services producing solid quantifiable results.
- Demonstrated success as a self-starter and problem solver
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that places a premium on individual accountability.
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
- Undergraduate degree.
