Firefighter/EMT

The South Boston Fire Department is accepting applications for Firefighter /EMT. The positions are full time with a $2,000 sign on bonus. The salary is $42,230 per year. Drug Test, Pre-employment physical, and valid background checks are required. The South Boston Fire Department serves a citizenry of just under 8,000 residents in an area of approximately 12 square miles. The Town houses the majority of businesses in Halifax County and has the County high school, middle school, an elementary school, and a pre-school within its boundaries. Work Schedule: The position is full time, working a shift of 24 hours on and 48 hours off. Applicants must be 18 years or older with a valid HSD or GED, VA drivers license, and a clean driving record. Firefighter 1 and EMT-B certifications are required.
