Overview:
The Chief Impact Officer is a strategic leader responsible for the development, integration, and execution of services that support and enhance the effectiveness and impact of 20 Club site operations and programs on 9,000+ youth members across Palm Beach County. The Chief Impact Officer will lead a high-performing team, translating vision and strategy into operational plans and performance targets, developing leaders, and building collaboration across the organization, assuring alignment, coordination, and excellent execution. This executive team member will initiate strategic partnerships with external organizations and support positive relationships with corporate and advisory board members, professional staff, and donors. This team leader will report directly to the President & CEO and play a critical role along with other members of the executive team in advancing the organization's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for youth programs and Club operations that aligns with the organization's mission and goals. Ensure that the plan is regularly communicated to and embraced by all team members.
- Collaborate with the President & CEO and the executive team to set organizational priorities and objectives.
- Lead the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services, and activities that facilitate the achievement of youth development outcomes through high-quality programming and experiences.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the quality and impact of youth programs.
Program Management:
- Oversee the VP of Programs in the design, implementation, and evaluation of all youth programs to ensure they are developmentally appropriate, culturally relevant, and meet the needs of diverse youth populations.
- Collaborate with VP of Programs to develop and lead the implementation of best practices for youth development programming ensuring programs are evidence-based or promising practice.
- Collaborate with the VP of Programs and Regional Operations Directors to standardize processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all Club programs.
- Collaborate with the VP of Programs to monitor program outcomes and use data to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the VP of Programs and Regional Operation Directors to develop and implement best practices in Club program schedules and optimal use of facility capacity for programming implementation.
- Support the rollout of new programs, ensuring that all operational logistics and program resources are in place for successful execution.
Club Operations:
- Oversee the Regional Operation Directors in managing daily operations of 20 club sites, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations Directors, Executive Club Directors, and Club Directors, to develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of all Club sites.
- Collaborate with Regional Operation Directors and VP of Programs to develop and lead the implementation of best practices for Club operations including program execution and fidelity.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations Directors to develop and oversee Club member recruitment strategies to attract and retain Club members, focusing on average daily attendance targets (school year and summer) and outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations Directors to advise and review schedules and content of Club special events and parent meetings. Participate in these activities on an 'as needed' basis.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Club operations and program staff.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, VP of Programs, and Regional Operations Directors to ensure performance management 'best practices' are executed for all current and future team members including hiring, onboarding, annual performance reviews, professional development plans, training, and succession planning.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Promote regular and ongoing opportunities for all staff to give feedback on program operations.
- In cooperation with Human Resources, approve actions for all department matters pertaining to staff discipline.
- Schedule, plan, and lead team meetings held on an 'as needed' basis but no less than once per month.
Administration:
- Serve on Corporate Board Safety Committee and support other Corporate Board Committees as assigned.
- Work effectively and strategically collaborating with Administration, Finance & Accounting, Development, Human Resources, and Marketing & Communications.
- Maintain/Update Operations Manual in collaboration with the CFO.
- Follow all financial policies and procedures related to BGCPBC expenditures and purchases.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build a culture that nurtures positive, effective, collaborative partnerships with Club members, Club parents, and families.
- Collaborate with Regional Operations Directors to support all Club Advisory Boards by providing new Board member onboarding, attending regular Board meetings, assisting with Board retreats, assisting in Board member recruitment, and being a liaison between boards and BGCPBC.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, youth-serving organizations, schools, and stakeholders to support and enhance program delivery.
- Represent BGCPBC at community events and key stakeholder meetings to advocate for youth programs and services.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Ensure the continued financial viability of BGCPBC through sound fiscal management practices.
- Work in collaboration with the CFO to develop and manage the budget for youth programs and Club operations, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Assist in identifying and securing funding opportunities to support program growth and sustainability.
- Evaluation and Reporting:
- Collaborate with the VP of Programs and Regional Operations Directors in the management of data collecting, analysis, and reporting. Make recommendations for enhanced program tools, if necessary.
- Collaborate with the VP of Programs to establish metrics for evaluating program success and impact.
- Collaborate with the VP of Programs and Regional Operations Directors to prepare regular reports for the President & CEO, Board of Directors, Club staff, and other stakeholders on BGCPBC program and operations performance and outcomes.
- Evaluate overall organizational effectiveness based on participation and achievement of stated goals (including KPIs); recommend and implement modifications to improve organizational performance, as appropriate.
- Serve as lead in the execution of the non-financial Annual Report presented to Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Safety:
- Lead BGCPBC safety programming instituting best practices in operational execution.
- Work with Director of Training & Safety Audits to develop BGCPBC Safety Plan for Clubs including the creation of an annual calendar that includes emergency drills, fire and active shooter training, safety inspections, etc.
- Promote a culture of safety for both employees and members.
- Manage and execute the Disaster Emergency Preparedness Plan for BGCPBC.
- Collaborate with the HR Director and Regional Operation Directors to develop and execute best practices in the Incident Reporting process with an emphasis on Critical Incidents.
- Facilities and Transportation Maintenance:
- Manage the Director of Facilities & Transportation Maintenance in the development and execution of operational processes for all facilities, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
- Manage the Director of Facilities & Transportation Maintenance in the development and execution of operational processes for all fleet staff and vehicle registrations, inspections, and maintenance.
- Manage the Director of Facilities & Transportation Maintenance in the execution of special maintenance, renovation, and remodeling projects funded by BGCPBC supporters.
- Other related duties as specified by the President & CEO
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in youth program and operations management, nonprofit leadership, or a related field.
- Proven track record of strategic planning and execution in a complex, multi-site organization.
- Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
