The Quality Engineer will support and enforce the quality control system to ensure internal, industry, vendor, and customer compliance standards are established, achieved, and maintained. They will be the focal point for interfacing Quality Assurance issues with internal and external customers/suppliers ensuring compliance to the appropriate requirements including non-conformance analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize actions using methodologies including Voice of Customer (VOC), Measurement Systems Assessment (MSA), Failure Mode Analysis (FMEA), Cause and Effect (C&E), and Control Parameter Management (CPM)
  • Perform quality reviews of processes to ensure compliance with stated customer requirements, specifications, and quality performance expectations
  • Perform quality reviews of suppliers to ensure compliance with stated requirements, specifications, and quality performance expectations
  • Review processes to ensure compliance with documented QMS requirements and update QMS documents as needed
  • Ensure non-conformities are resolved to include appropriate customer resolution and vendor corrective action
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service and supplier oversight
  • Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints to include supplier improvements
  • Analyze, compile, review and regularly report customer and vendor quality metrics such as First Time Quality performance and internal / external defect rates
  • Track and analyze vendors returns and holds to ensure quality of all purchased parts
  • Schedule and perform internal audits and communicate results with appropriate team members
  • Schedule customer or vendor audits as needed
  • Review requests to approve new customers or vendors as needed
  • Contribute to team effort by working cross functionally to deliver the desired results for the business

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Structural, Systems, or related field from an Accredited Institution
  • 3-5 Years in distribution, manufacturing or Supply Chain
  • Experience working in Aerospace quality systems preferred
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data, such as manufacturing or part drawings, to provide guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as, strong problem solving, organizational, project management and decision-making skills
  • Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards
  • Ability to process and effectively communicate information using MS 365 Suite of tools (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
