JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for all activities of the Storeroom ensuring the availability of materials, parts, and assemblies for planned and unplanned maintenance projects and outages. This position oversees the safe and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of all parts and supplies for the facility, repair & return inventory, and cycle counts. In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for inventory cost reduction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for safeguarding and maintaining all tools and equipment to ensure they are in good operating condition.
  • Responsible for maintaining and organizing spare parts in storeroom.
  • Champion safety compliance and efforts within the storeroom and other areas under your supervision. Ensure the ongoing safety of yourself and team members by making safety the top priority.
  • Responsible for evaluating team and updating spare parts requirements.
  • Responsible for entering storeroom inventory transactions into D365 and receiving inventory through Coupa.
  • Part of Critical Spares Team.
  • Application knowledge in order to maintain ERP system.
  • Plan and coordinate work, train, motivate, monitor, and evaluate performance of your direct report. Counsel, record, and discipline as necessary; ensure accountability across team.
  • Monitor demand, stocking levels, timely delivery, and receipt of materials to identify opportunities for supply process improvements, cost savings and to ensure availability of material to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintains max. and min. inventory records on stock items as assigned.
  • Lead initiatives and projects designed to improve safety, compliance, effectiveness, and improved efficiencies for the operation of the storeroom. Develop, manage, and meet Storeroom KPIs for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for conducting all storeroom inventory cycle counts as needed.
  • Responsible for receiving incoming freight, inspecting for damage, notifying appropriate person of damage, filing claims if necessary and ensuring replacement is received.
  • Place material into storage location or arranges for the delivery to the proper department that ordered the product.
  • Perform cost and inventory analysis to reduce inventory costs, maintain equipment reliability and ensure availability of materials. This includes reviewing inventory reports, attending planning meetings, and communicating with stakeholders to determine appropriate inventory levels and priorities.
  • Act as liaison between maintenance and procurement on supplier questions, expedites, and delivery coordination.
  • Keep work area clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Performs other duties as required that are in support of the department's goals.
  • Interacts frequently with the Maintenance Planner, Plant Buyer and Accounting Department personnel.
  • Responsible for removal & deletion of obsolete parts.
  • Responsible for spare parts and their status throughout the repair process.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has one direct report which will be the Storeroom Clerk.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Knowledge of safe forklift operation principles.
  • Current forklift certification preferred; must have ability to become certified.
  • Ability to work well without close supervision.
  • Very strong organizational skills.
  • Strong analysis/problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience operating an ERP system.
  • Strong mathematical ability.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials management.
  • Action and detail oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment utilizing advanced organization and project management skills and experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • General knowledge of computers. Experience with inventory software a plus.
  • Logistics and parts management experience.
  • Storeroom or inventory management experience a plus.
