Job Description

Cobalt Truck Equipment, an Idaho based company with four locations, is currently seeking an experienced Manufacturing Specialist based at its Converse, Texas location.

The candidate will work directly with the Branch Manager and Engineering Manager to assist in the areas of design and manufacturing of customer trucks.

Essential Functions

The following is not meant to be a representation of every single job function. Rather, this is a listing of the key, essential job functions:

  1. Develop Bill of Materials (BOMs) for standard and custom product lines.
  2. Partner with manufacturing and engineering to develop master BOMs.
  3. Produce 3D layouts and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
  4. Evaluate technical aspects and manufacturability of new builds.
  5. Collaborate with manufacturing and finalize drawings to capture as-built products.
  6. Create Work Orders for standard and custom builds.
  7. Inspect components and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  8. Assist in creating standard technical procedures for all locations.
  9. Provide manufacturing support for ongoing builds.
  10. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  11. Identify bottlenecks in manufacturing process, collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve delays.
  12. Identify cost reduction opportunities by utilizing knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Education & Experience

  1. 6 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  2. Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor (or similar design software system) and Autodesk Vault.
  3. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and advanced data functions.
  4. Knowledge of engineering materials and processes is a plus.
  5. Familiarity with production lines a plus.

Work Environment

This position works in an office setting, with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or type; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and sit for long periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch. Modified hours may be considered.

Travel

Some travel (~5%) is expected for this position.
