 POSITION SUMMARY

Landscapers play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces. They often engage in tasks such as lawn mowing, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and edging sidewalks and driveways. Additionally, they may operate equipment like weed-whackers, leaf blowers, and lawn mowers, and use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruning saws. They also tend to plants, applying fertilizer and water as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (“Incidental” job duties may be included but must be indicated.  Other essential and incidental job duties may be assigned)

 

  • Responsible for performing various landscape maintenance functions in the customer’s service area including, but not limited to, mowing, edging, mulching, fertilizing, watering plants, etc.
  • Must maintain the health and appearance of the customer’s service area by pruning and trimming trees and shrubbery.
  • Required to apply pesticides and herbicides to control pests and weeds as required and ensure the application meets all safety standards.
  • Must operate all landscaping power equipment, machinery, and tools safely and efficiently.  Equipment includes the following but is not limited to these, zero-turn mower, trimmer and edger, etc.
  • If required, operate the Company Truck in a safe manner following all vehicle and road safety regulations.
  • Responsible once a week to clean both the inside and outside of the Company Truck and equipment and utilize a check list to inspect the truck and equipment to ensure all are in proper working order.  Report any issues to the Landscape Foreman immediately. 

 

 


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (Include necessary licenses and specialized training.).

 

  • At least 2 years landscaping experience or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining landscaping tools and equipment including the follow, zero-turn mower, trimmer and edger.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor outside in various weather conditions.
  • Effective communication and professionalism
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.  Must be able to stand, bend, climb and kneel and perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.  Position will require that employee have manual dexterity, good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination.  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee will continually be exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, rain and wind.
