Subsitute Teacher

Position Overview:

The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is in need for Substitute Teachers for our special education and early intervention classrooms for the 2024-2025 school year.

These classrooms are scattered all around Erie, Warren and Crawford Counties. The IU5 classrooms consist of special needs classrooms in the areas of Autistic Support, Life Skills, Emotional/Behavioral Support, Deaf & Hard of Hearing, Visually Impaired and Multiple Disabilities.

Our students range in ages from our Early Intervention classrooms (which is our 3-5-year-olds with developmental delays) through school aged students (which can go up to about 21 years of age).

We have 45 classrooms total.

• 21 Classrooms in Erie County.
• 2 Classrooms in Warren County.
• 22 Classrooms in Crawford County.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in any field

Pay

Institution & Early Intervention Classrooms: $130/day

School Aged Classrooms daily rates are based on individual district substitute rates (ranging from approximately $120- $150 a day). Training and job shadowing within the classroom is provided for all emergency substitutes.

Successful applicants will be required to submit acceptable PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Clearance and Federal History Clearance as well as complete forms Act 168 for current employer and any previous employer where the applicant worked directly with children. Additionally, a physical and negative TB test will be required within 3 months of receipt of the test results by the IU.
