Position Summary/Objective

The purpose of this position is to handle responsibility for planning, coordinating, controlling, and managing the First Shift Warehouse Operations, including receiving, replenishment, order fulfillment, inventory put away, UPS/FedEx processing, and customer order pickups. Routinely work with the Team Leads and other company personnel to address any issues concerning warehouse functions. Direct the Team Leads in methods to effectively address issues with processes or personnel.

Essential Functions

  1. Work with the Team Leads in Replenishment and Receiving to process all incoming freight and manage any issues concerning the warehouse functions.
  2. Assist with various warehouse functions to remain current on all warehouse activities.
  3. Manage worker issues as they arise, including disciplinary actions, employee evaluations, time off requests, etc. Move workers within the different warehouse functions for purposes of cross-training and providing adequate coverage.
  4. Collaborate with the Warehouse General Manager in addressing problems or issues throughout the shift. Make recommendations concerning hiring, disciplinary actions, and new equipment.
  5. Manage staffing to maintain adequate coverage that minimizes overtime and nonproductive time.
  6. Ensure staff are cross-trained facilitating a highly productive multi-functioning workforce.
  7. Continuously seek operational efficiencies and implement improved processes and management methods to generate efficiencies and workflow optimization.
  8. Participate in QAQI (Quality Assurance Quality Improvement Committee) meetings.
  9. Develop reporting to analyze workflow and productivity to find operational efficiencies.
  10. Generate weekly Production Reports exhibiting Productivity, Discrepancies, and Staffing Issues,
  11. Support and participate in the Continuous Improvement Program.
  12. Participate in the CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action) program.
  13. Interface with warehouse workers to ensure there are no hindrances to work performance and work to find solutions to issues.
  14. Work with Customer Service on various issues, such as product reviews, missed orders, special deliveries, etc.
  15. Manage email and respond to special requests from various sources.
  16. Attend routine and special meetings with other Department Managers to address company issues.
  17. Maintain compliance with the accreditation boards and government agencies such as but not limited to National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP), OSHA, DEA, FDA, PA Department of Health, and PA Department of Agriculture.
  18. Follow company policies and procedures as well as the chain of command.

Work Environment

This position operates in office and warehouse environments and involves working in both quiet and noisy settings.

Competencies

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Data Analytics. Must have excellent written and oral communication, organizational, time management, leadership, managerial, teamwork, problem-solving, collaboration, computer navigation, telephone, and email skills. Work independently with occasional supervision.

Physical demands typical of this position

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position frequently requires walking long distances, sitting, standing, and using hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other warehouse and office equipment. Requires close visual acuity to analyze data and figures and view a computer screen. Work independently with occasional supervision. May require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Travel

Work-related travel is limited to the training required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Data Analytics.

Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, knowledge of warehouse processes, expertise in receiving, replenishment, order picking, Quality Control, and shipping.

10+ years of management and leadership experience.

Must Successfully Complete Designated Representative Certifications for Florida and California within 6 Months.

Preferred Education and Experience

4-year degree in management or supply chain management

or 10+ years of leadership and management experience.
