- Prep patient charts to ensure all clinical data is obtained and recorded accurately. Identify missing reports prior to the patient's visit.
- Ensure patient rooms and clinical areas are adequately stocked.
- Answer and triage patient calls.
- Complete e-prescribe and pharmacy RX requests as authorized by the provider.
- Patient triage and intake to include obtaining vital signs
- Assist providers with patient exams and procedures.
- Prepare lab requisitions.
- In compliance with OSHA regulation, ensure a sterile cleaning of instruments and patient rooms after exam patient examination.
- Patient education.
- Review sample cabinet and dispose of expired medications
- Assist with patient scheduling as needed.
- Assist the supervisor as needed with supply ordering and/or equipment maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS / BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Medical Assistant Certificate.
- Minimum 2 years prior medical office experience in a physician practice setting preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Must be personable with a professional demeanor and able to exercise courtesy and tact with all patients.
- Must be familiar with HIPAA regulations and medical information sharing practices.
- Must have strong communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively with multiple departments.
- Ability to use good judgment and independent decision-making skills to effectively problem solve, resolve issues and facilitate department efficiency and productivity.
- Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and maintain flexibility in response to constantly changing demands, EMR familiarity is preferred.
